This policy sits on top of your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA). It never takes any of them away.
Quotes and approval
- Before we repair or service your vehicle, we give you a quote for the work and parts.
- We don't start work until you approve the quote. If we find something else once work is under way, we stop and ask before doing it.
- We won't charge more than the quote you approved without your permission first.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- A diagnostic fee applies to find the cause of a fault. We'll tell you the amount before we start. We regularly run free-diagnostic promotions, so ask when you book.
Parts
- Ask us whether a part is new, reconditioned or used, or original or an equivalent, and we'll tell you before we fit it.
- You can have the parts we replace back if you ask for them. Otherwise we dispose of them.
- We don't ask for a deposit, including on special-order parts.
- You're welcome to bring your own parts. We'll tell you before fitting them if we don't think a part will work or is right for your vehicle.
Warranty
Every new or reconditioned part we fit, and the labour to fit it, is covered for at least three months from the date it was installed, as section 57 of the CPA requires.
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from misuse or abuse of the part or the vehicle
- Parts you supplied yourself (the part's warranty is with whoever sold it to you; our workmanship in fitting it is still covered)
If something isn't right
- Contact us as soon as you notice the problem and keep your invoice.
- Bring the vehicle back so we can inspect it. Please don't have another workshop work on the same repair first, unless it's an emergency, because we may not be able to assess what went wrong.
- If the part or our workmanship is at fault, we'll repair it, replace the part, or refund you for the affected work, as the CPA provides.
We will not refund work that was done correctly and that you approved.
Collection and storage
- We'll tell you when your vehicle is ready. Payment is due on collection, by EFT or cash.
- If a vehicle isn't collected within 7 days of us telling you it's ready, storage charges apply. We'll tell you the daily rate when we let you know it's ready.
